Mount Banahaw is described, by its citizens, as the New Jerusalem because of the similarities of the significant places and things that are very prominent in the life of Jesus. There are places (complex) named after the places or events that have been part of Jesus' life. One of these is"kalbaryo". Though not all of us joined in hiking , many still climbed this mountain despite the tiredness they experience, after passing through the cave, and the sprinkles of rain which caused the place to be slippery.

The mountain next to this is Mt. Cristobal, which they they considered as the mountain of devil because of the stories that have passed to the lips of the people.

Many of them still believed that Jose Rizal, our National Hero, is a prophet, a saint or even a God.

                     For these Rizalists, Jose Rizal is not only a national hero for them...

Their religion together with their temple is quite different with ours, not only because of its physical appearance, their altar, but also because of the people who they believe as saints, our filipino heroes. 

They are: Andres Bonifacio, Antonio Luna, Apolinario Mabini, Emilio Jacinto, Garciano Lopez Jaena, Gregorio del Pilar, Juan Luna, Marcelo del Pilar, Melchora Aquino, Miguel Malvar, Pedro Paterno.

Science Project

Stability in climbing mountains is essential; we all don't to fall, do we? So we need to set our body in a stable state. 

Center of Gravity is where all the weight is concentrated

A stable state is reached when the center of gravity is in its proper position. we all know that the center of Gravity varies whenever the body is moved. So the question is: "How could we be stable while climbing and going down the mountain?"It is simple. When climbing, you must widen the area of your base by keeping your feet apart (just enough to move freely in any direction). Use your hands as support to maintain balance while climbing up. however, in going down the mountain, a stable state is quite easier than going up. All we need to do is to sit on the rocks (this lowers the C. G.) and slowly move downwards. this will help you to maintain your balance.

Mathematics Project

The mountain is considered by many as "Holy mountain" and is popular among pilgrims along with the mountain climbers. Banahaw is a national park and a protected area in the Philippines since 1941, and currently called Mt. Banahaw-San Cristobal Protected Landscape covering 10, 901hectares (26,940 Acres) of land. 

the largest with the maximum elevation of 2,170 meters (7,119 ft), above mean sea-level. The summit is topped by a 1.5 by 3.5 kilometers (0.93 mi x 2.2 mi) and 210 meters (690 ft) deep crater that is breached on the southern rim believed to have been caused by 1730 eruption.

Proyekto sa Araling Panlipunan & Filipino

Sa pagpunta namin sa mahiwagang lugar ng Mt. Banahaw, bitbit ang kaunting kaalaman tungkol sa iba't ibang relihiyon ng iba't ibang lipunan. Dito, maraming nagsasabi na ang relihiyon ay Rizalista, o sumasamba kay Dr. Jose Rizal na ating pambansang bayani.

Ang mga tao sa pook na iyon ay namumuhay lamang ng simple, ngunit nagawa nilang manatiling masaya sa kanilang pang araw-araw na buhay.

Ang kanilang pinagkakakuhan ng kita ay ang pag-nenegosyo sa mga gawang-bahay na produkto na itinitinda sa mga dayo o turista. 

Ilan sa mga itinitinda rin nila ay ang mga  bagay na nagmula sa kweba, mga  rosario, anting-anting at iba pa.

Mayroon ding mga maliliit na lugar para sa kanilang nasasakupan. May ilang pagkakataon na ang mga kapilyang ito ay pinamumunuan ng mga kababaihan (o ang babae ang nagmimisa), hindi gaya ng ating nakagawian, ang mga lalaki (pari) ang nagmimisa sa ating simbahan.

Mayroon din silang mga nakasanayan na kaiba sa atin gaya ng pagsamba sa mga bato, puno at kweba.

Sa kabila ng mahaba at nakakapagod na lakad patungong Mt. Banahaw, marami pa rin ang matututunan na mga aral sa buhay na maaari nating gawing gabay sa ating buhay. Hindi lamang sa loob ng silid-aralan tayo may matututunan ngunit sa paglalakbay sa iba't ibang lugar gaya nito.

Sana'y maging inspirasyon sa ating ang mga mamamayan ng Ciudad Mistica de Dios, sa pagiging simple at malakas ang pananalig sa ating Diyos.

Understanding and Realizations

Because of this outbound trip, we learned that respect for different beliefs is necessary. People living in that place may not have the same religion as we have, but we must be open minded with diverse religious beliefs others believe in. Some of them consider Jose Rizal as a hero, a prophet, and even a saint; however, this outbound educational trip do not force us to change beliefs or to believe what they believe in but rather accept and understand them for this is their religion. They also want to be treated with respect as we want to be respected by them.

A benefit of these stretching to us is to improve our flexibility that could prevent injuries, which is also very essential in this activity.
